Davis Local Vocals sing at Community Park through the afternoon. No band, no backing track, just voices, which at an outdoor festival takes considerably more nerve than it sounds.
Who they are
An a cappella group of Davis teenagers who have been coming to this festival for at least six years, which means some of them have grown up on this stage. They arrange their own material, have written original songs about Davis, and have sung alongside the UC Davis a cappella groups who mentor them.
The singers
Take a bow: Ruby Schwerin, Matthew Vallero, Charlotte Del Favero, Evie Barnett, Katherine Berdovskiy, Clara Skinner and Kristina Schwerin. They are all on the team page with everybody else who builds this festival, which is where they belong.
That is worth pausing on. School-age singers choosing to spend a Saturday performing in a park, for free, at a festival that gives its proceeds to children who cannot ride a bike. Nobody makes them do that.

Listen for the harmonies, which is genuinely how you locate them. Then stay for a song, because a small crowd makes an enormous difference to teenagers singing outdoors.
