The festival is FREE because roughly a hundred people give a few hours each. Marshals keep the parade rolling, HQ answers every question, the kids zone needs grown-ups, and someone has to fold the tents. Pick a shift and we will take care of the rest.

Every one of these spots is a job that has to happen for the festival to run. Most are a couple of hours, none need experience, and you still get to enjoy the day.
Sign up once and you get your own page with your shifts on it, a reminder before the day, and your name on the wall of fame for every year you serve. Children of any age can help with a grown-up alongside them.

Set up 10 canopies, 6 tables and 36 chairs. These are distributed to selected vendors and volunteers at Community Park.

Canopy Takedown Crew1 shift6 of 6 filled
Take down the 10 canopies, 6 tables and 36 chairs at the end of the day and get them back to storage. The festival finishes at 3:00, so this is the last job of Halloween.

Trash & Recycling Crew2 shifts6 of 6 filled
Set up and take down the trash and recycling bins, replace bags as needed, and keep the festival space tidy through the day. At the end of the event, pick up stray litter and clear what vendors and entertainers leave behind, along with any caution tape and disposable signage. There is still plenty of downtime to enjoy the festival.

Stand at key points around the festival with a clipboard, a cheat sheet, a map and a clicker counter, and note what the crowd actually does: where people come in, where they bunch up, where they double back, and where nobody ever goes. It tells us how the festival really behaves, which is how next year gets better. No experience needed.
Monster Run/Skydiving Drop Zone setup1 shift0 of 6 filled
A morning crew of six sets up both the Monster Run course and the skydiving drop zone at Community Park. Place the drop-zone delineators and caution tape: these also form the Monster Run course. Work alongside Davis Fencing Academy to set up the laser-run course, operate stopwatches, keep participant times and provide extra hands during the Monster Run. The same setup marks the landing area for the skydiving finale. All work in this shift is done in the morning; this is one shared crew, not two separate teams.
