Treat Trail NOT YET UPDATED FOR 2026

Dozens of downtown Davis businesses put a bowl by the door and hand out candy to anyone in a costume. It is free, it is two hours, and the bags fill up fast. The horde rides in from Community Park at 3:00 and pours straight down 2nd Street.

The Treat Trail is their event.

The Davis Downtown Business Association has organized the businesses of downtown Davis since 1989: a 32-block district run by a nine-member board, elected every year by the business owners who fund it. Beyond the Treat Trail, DDBA puts on the Davis Farmers Market, the monthly Second Friday ArtAbout art walk, and student discounts through Aggie Deals, all in service of the same idea, that downtown is somewhere to connect, not just somewhere to shop. They are the reason there is a downtown worth trick-or-treating through.

57 stops on the trail

The full list of stops is below, grouped by block.

Start here

Davis Commons

500 1st Street, and the Zombie Bike Parade Festival zone. The skydiving finale lands at Community Park at 2:30, the crowd rolls straight down here, and the trail starts at the door.

Costume Hunt

Spot 10 costumes on the crowd around you while you walk the trail.

0 spotted. Get to 10 and you are in the draw.

Honour system, same as the Kingdom Quest. Your phone remembers which ones you have ticked. We do not: nothing is sent to us until you enter the draw.

Enter the draw

One entry per person. If you win, we will let you know how to collect your Zombie Takis at Zombie Headquarters, Community Park. We do not need a child's name, age or address.

Fill your bag

Tap a stop on the map to collect it. Saved on this phone only.

Sweet sightings

Tell everyone what you found. Anonymous, and by block.

Block level only. We never ask for an address, and the board is wiped every night.

Best loop

How long have you got? We will draw a walk from Davis Commons.

Boo booth

Add the trail frame to a photo. It never leaves your phone.

Why it exists

The Treat Trail is technically a separate Davis Downtown Business Association event from the Zombie Bike Parade Festival, but the two have been scheduled back to back for years because it works for everyone involved. Community Park empties out right as the skydiving finale ends, and rather than let a few thousand costumed people disperse to their cars, the festival routes them downtown, where dozens of local shops get a guaranteed afternoon of foot traffic on one of the slower retail days of the year.

Tips

  • Start at Davis Commons, then work your way north and east through downtown.
  • Bike parking is available throughout downtown if you ride in from Community Park.
  • Kids in costume tend to collect a full bag in well under the two-hour window.
  • Follow @davis.downtown on Instagram and Facebook for DDBA's own updates.

About this map

The Trick-or-Treat Trail is produced by the Davis Downtown Business Association. The Zombie Bike Parade Festival built and hosts this map as a free service to them and to downtown Davis.

These 57 stops are the 2025 roster. DDBA confirms the 2026 list in October and most of these are expected back, but it is not final yet. 12 of them are pinned to their own front door; the rest sit at the centre of their block, because we would rather show you the right block than guess at a doorway.
