Drop in at the Spooky Jam Station at Community Park any time between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, October 31, pick up a percussion instrument and become part of an ever-changing Halloween jam led by PlayReady Music founder David Abramson.
David and PlayReady Music build a Halloween soundscape for visitors to play along with. You do not have to be a musician and you do not have to arrive at any particular time. Jump in, experiment with sounds and rhythms, and help make some delightfully strange music together.
At points through the day David leads “Sleeping with the Dead”, his five-minute Halloween singalong. And what would the Zombie Bike Parade be without zombies? The song calls for a small crew of the undead to bring it to life, so if that is you, turn up.
Meet David Abramson
David founded PlayReady Music and has taught in Davis for roughly fifteen years, working with hundreds of musicians of every age and level. His teaching rests on one simple idea: music is for everyone. Rather than making it feel formal or intimidating, he builds rooms where people experiment, listen, play together and gain the confidence to join in.
That is exactly why this station works. It is not a performance you stand and watch. Grab an instrument, make a spooky sound, find the rhythm and see what kind of music a park full of zombies can produce.

Based in Davis, PlayReady Music helps children, teenagers and adults find their inner musician through a participatory style of teaching.
