X Games-level riders at the halfway point in Mace Ranch Park
StuntMasters Inc. has run professional BMX and freestyle shows since 1999, led by director John Parker, a 10-time X Games athlete, with riders including Cory Walters, Andrew Topa and Frank Ruiz. The show debuted at the festival's downtown afterparty in 2023 and moved to Mace Ranch Park in 2024, becoming what organizers call the parade's "halfway hoorah."
Riders who make it to Mace Ranch are rewarded with brain juice (pink lemonade) and Woodstock's cinnabread alongside the BMX show, funded by Kim Eichorn of Windermere Real Estate. It is a genuine professional-caliber stunt performance dropped into the middle of a neighborhood park, which is exactly the kind of scale-up this festival tends to do year after year.
History
Before it had a permanent home at Mace Ranch, the BMX show ran as part of the downtown Zombie Mash afterparty, sharing a block with DJ Duc Jones and fire dancers. Moving it into the middle of the parade route in 2024, right at the turnaround point, gave riders a reason to keep going past the halfway mark instead of drifting home early, and gave StuntMasters a bigger, calmer space to work with than a crowded downtown plaza.
