The weekend one family knew Davis was home
In 2022, the Oney family spent their very first weekend as Davis residents at our Zombie Bike Ride. They heard the Noise Violation band, tried out funky trikes and bikes, and got chased by 7-foot-tall zombies. Then they stopped downtown for lunch. Dad Austin Oney wrote to us about what happened next:
“At one point during lunch my wife locked eyes with me and expressed, ‘We’ve chosen the best place in the world to raise our children!’ I smiled and nodded in agreement.”
They finished the day at Community Park, clapping as the zombie skydivers floated down. In Austin’s words, his family “felt welcomed and honored to be a part of a community that makes walking and biking safely a top priority.”
