A student-built video game, playable FREE at the Davis Arts Center
The festival's one indoor, air-conditioned station: Da Vinci Charter Academy's Video Game Design Club built "Da Vinci's Zombies: Bike Parade Edition," a fire-blasting-scepter, ZomBee-battling, giant-snail-boss-fighting video game themed entirely around the festival. Play it FREE on the gaming computer set up inside the Davis Arts Center, which also hosts Monster Crafts and a Friday Family Open Studio the same weekend.
The club meets year-round at Da Vinci Charter Academy, working in Unreal Engine, GameMaker, Blender and the Adobe Creative Suite, and this festival game began life as an adaptation of an earlier club project, "Lev's Zombies." Festival director Aaron Wedra chairs the club, so the same person running the whole event also oversees the students who built its game.
