The Sixth Annual Zombie Bike Parade Festival: A Weekend of Halloween Thrills and Community Impact

Davis, California - The sixth annual Zombie Bike Parade Festival, held from Friday, October 25th through Sunday, October 27th, was a spectacular success, bringing together thousands of participants for a weekend of Halloween-themed festivities, community engagement, and charitable giving. Orchestrated and hosted by the Davis Odd Fellows with huge contributions from The Bike Campaign, Davis Bike Club, and Hallmark Properties, the event raised significant funds for local non-profits while showcasing the vibrant spirit of Davis.

Festival Highlights: The festival kicked off with a variety of events, including the Mirror Image Dance Company's Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday afternoon and the sold-out Zombie Ball on Saturday evening. At the Zombie Ball, the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge was transformed into a popular destination for Halloween enthusiasts, and costumed partygoers danced to music by DJ Duc Jones, enjoyed themed drinks, and participated in a thrilling costume showcase.

The main event on Sunday saw over 1,000 bicyclists join the traditional Zombie Bike Parade, riding from Community Park to Mace Ranch Park and back. Nearly 2,000 participants gathered throughout the day for festival activities, which culminated in the awe-inspiring zombie skydiving grand finale at Community Park.

Community Impact:This year's festival raised $8,000 for NorCal Trykers, a non-profit organization that builds custom tricycles for children with disabilities--enough to provide eight children with the freedom and joy of riding a bike. The Zombie Ball raised $600 for Thriving Pink, supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The professional stage dedicated to Watermelon Music, which featured many local performances, helped raise $500 for Friends of Watermelon Music. The event also raised $100 for Toys for Tots. Volunteers and Sponsors: Many dozens of volunteers from the Davis Odd Fellows, the Bike Campaign, the Davis Bike Club, and all corners of Yolo County worked tirelessly to ensure the event ran smoothly. The festival also received support from over 130 sponsors, and collaborators, including the City of Davis and Visit Yolo.

Festival Features: The event featured a wide range of activities, including interactive entertainment stations, live performances on the Friends of Watermelon Music stage, and a BMX stunt show by StuntMasters. Food and drink vendors reported considerable patronage, while other vendors and entertainment stations noted high engagement from attendees. Participants delighted in activities ranging from a Halloween marching band and fencing demonstrations to hands-on encounters with the robotics team Citrus Circuits. Families and friends solved riddles in the Zombie Kingdom Quest and enjoyed attractions such as the castle bounce house and science exhibits. The Zombie Bike Parade Festival has firmly established itself as a beloved community event that celebrates Halloween while making a meaningful impact. Davis was truly taken over by zombies for the weekend, and organizers are already looking forward to the seventh annual festival.
