Girl Scouts Troop 135 run a treat station at Community Park through the afternoon. Stop by and say hello. They are one of several Davis groups who turn up and actually run something rather than setting out a table of leaflets, which is exactly what this festival asks of people.
Who they are part of
Troop 135 belongs to Girl Scouts Heart of Central California, the council covering eighteen counties across northern and central California, Yolo among them. Between them the council has close to twenty thousand girl and adult members.
The mission has not changed much in a hundred years and is worth repeating in their own words: to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. A troop running a candy station at a zombie festival is a smaller version of the same idea. Someone decided to organise something for other people, and then did it.

Ask them on the day. The people staffing the table are the troop and the volunteers who lead it, and they can tell you how to join far better than a web page can. The council runs troops, family events and camps across the region, including two STEM centres and makerspaces built by the girls themselves.
